El Grupo de Investigación de Cardiología Clínica y Experimental, del Departamento de Medicina Interna de la Universidad de Murcia, dirigido por el Profesor Mariano Valdés, busca un investigador postdoctoral en Biomedicina:

El objetivo es el desarrollo de la investigación, tanto básica como aplicada, en el ámbito de la aterotrombosis, concretamente en el marco de la trombosis arterial y el remodelado intersticial vascular y miocárdico. Coordinado por el Dr. Francisco Marín, es una línea en clara expansión, requiriendo dedicación a un alto nivel de competencia internacional.

Se ofrece:
Contrato temporal de un año, con posibilidad de renovación en función de objetivos. El candidato será presentado a programas de financiación oficial como el Programa Juan de la Cierva.

Se valorará:
-    Título de Doctor en Biomedicina, Biología, Bioquímica, Farmacia, Química o Medicina, preferentemente con fecha posterior a 2007.
-    Experiencia en técnicas de biología molecular, genética, cultivos, microscopía óptica y electrónica.
-    Publicaciones científicas, presentaciones a congresos, seminarios, cursos…
-    Estancia en Centros de reconocido prestigio superior a 6 meses.
-    Conocimientos de informática e inglés.

Junior Toxicologist

Function : under the supervision of the REACH lead toxicologist or senior toxicologist :

• Elaboration/maintenance of the necessary REACH technical dossiers (data collection and validation, test waiving applications, data generation, risk evaluation, harmonized classification and labeling, in accordance with the business strategy.
• REACH technical member within the consortium/SIEF technical task forces, in relation with the Solvay business representative in the steering committee : follow up of the technical tasks conducted by the REACH technical leader as required by the dossier creating process.
• Management of the REACH toxicological activities according to the REACH workflow processes defined under REACH project structure (REACH project manager and REACH lead toxicologist).
• Elaboration of full toxicological profiles for substances of interest to Solvay (data collection and validation, contacts with contract labs/institutes, study monitoring).
• Risk assessment related to professional and consumer exposure to substances.
• Build up GHS (Global Harmonised System) expertise for the classification and labeling of dangerous substances/mixtures, in order to implement the hazard communication process.
• Assistance to internal clients, when health and/or environmental ad hoc problems related to substances require an (eco)toxicological/environmental expertise.
• Elaboration of the necessary notification/registration dossiers for new substances according to the local regulatory requirements worldwide.
• Develop regulatory skills and expertise relating to chemicals in close interaction with the Product Regulatory Affairs specialists.

Profile

• University level, in life science orientation (pharmacy, veterinary medicine, biological science, industrial toxicology).
• Good knowledge by training of the Chemical and Plastic manufacturing processes.
• Good in writing and oral communication in French as well as in English.
• High ability to work within a team.
• Ability to wok with different software as Word and Excel and ability to easily apprehend new software (SAP system, IT-tools required by the ECHA,…).

One Postdoctoral position in Vascular Physiology Research is available in the laboratory of Dr. Laura Gonzalez Bosc, Vascular Physiology Group, Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, School of Medicine, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM, USA.
The project focuses in study the role of the transcription factor NFATc3 in the regulation of vascular smooth muscle phenotype in chronic hypobaric hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension. Techniques involve the use of genetically modified mouse models, isolate and cannulate mouse pulmonary arteries to measure changes in arterial diameter and arterial wall calcium, measure changes in gene expression by real time PCR and western blot, determine NFATc3 nuclear localization by immunofluorescence confocal microscopy, cell culture and molecular biology. A background in pulmonary physiology or cell biology with experience in mouse models, cell culture, and molecular biology is preferred. 
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree (MD, DVM, or PhD in physiology or closely related field). Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
